Knit stitch

1) Hold the needle with the stitches on it in your left hand.

2) Take the empty needle in your right hand. Slide the tip up into the first stitch and push it behind the left needle, to form an X.

3) With your right hand, wind the working yarn (coming from the ball) behind and around the right needle in a counter-clockwise direction. The yarn should go between the needles.

4) Dip the needle down and toward you so hat it goes under and through the stitch on the left needle. The right needle should be in front of the left one and have one loop of yarn on it.

5) Slide the right needle upward so that the stitch comes off the left needle and stays on the right one. You have completed one knit stitch. Finish the row by repeating steps one to five, then move the full needle to your left hand and begin row two.
